Wicked Wire Crafts is committed to environmental responsibility. Below are a few ways that we integrate our efforts toward sustainability in every aspect of our business.

Wire & Materials

All wire & jewelry-making supplies are sourced from RioGrande.com. We have chosen to work with Rio Grande because they share our beliefs in the importance of ethical consumption. Their facility has been entirely solar powered since 2010, resulting in a net-zero energy consumption. Rio Grande values ethical sourcing of materials as a founding principal of their business, & allows us to recycle any scrap metal through them as well. In addition, Rio Grande actively invests in schools & communities to keep the art of jewelry-making alive.

Gemstones

Over the years, Wicked Wire Crafts has built close relationships with a handful of reliable gemstone sources. All gemstones are sourced from independent lapidary artists who have mined or cut the stones themselves. By working with small-scale miners, we are able to offer quality gemstones without the negative environmental & social impacts associated with unregulated large-scale mining.

Packaging

All orders are packaged strictly with recycled or reused materials. Our padded mailers are purchased from EcoEnclose.com, & are made from 100% recycled material, 20% of which is post-consumer waste. All of the padded mailers & boxes we use are easily recyclable & naturally biodegradable. On the rare occasion that any plastic or bubble wrap is used to package a product, it is reused plastic that was used to package the gemstones or wire we ordered form our suppliers.
